Advent/Christmas

The Second Sunday after Christmas (January 3)
A service for the Second Sunday after Christmas focusing on God's gift of wisdom to Solomon, the gifts of God lavished on us thanks to His grace, and the child Jesus growing in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.  Which gifts has God given you?  How can you use them for His glory and for the advance of His kingdom?

The Fourth Sunday of Advent (December 20)

The Lord promised to make David a great name and house.  He did so by sending unto David's lineage the Messiah, Jesus.  The Lord tells us of faith and family in today's readings.
Third Sunday of Advent (December 13)

The Third Sunday of Advent is one of rejoicing as our Savior comes to us.  God sent John the Baptizer to announce with joy the coming Savior, who was in the midst of the people repenting and receiving forgiveness at the banks of the Jordan River.

Second Sunday of Advent (December 6)

A service highlighting the first coming of Jesus to secure our salvation and preparing us for the second coming of Christ, who will bring that salvation to fulfillment for those who are waiting in faith for Him.
First Sunday in the Church Year: Advent 1
(November 29)

The season of Advent (Latin: "coming") begins a new Church Year in which we celebrate our Savior's first coming (incarnation and birth), that He has promised to come to us now in the Word and Sacrament ministry of His Church, and that He has promised to come again to gather the elect, raise the dead, and judge the world.  Come, Lord Jesus!  Amen.
