Seventh Sunday of Easter (May 16, 2021)
The Seventh Sunday of Easter occurs after the Day of Ascension (40 days after Easter) and before the Day of Pentecost (50 days after Easter). It follows our Savior's commission to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing and teaching them all that He has commanded (Matthew 28:18-20). Pentecost is when the nations are brought to Jerusalem for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Today's missionaries go to the nations to share with people the great gifts of God incorporated in Christ's life and resurrection! |

Sixth Sunday of Easter Service (May 9, 2021)
Human beings have a bias toward attractive and youthful people. It shouldn't matter to us, but it often is a subconscious influence. Thankfully, such things are not a factor in God's love for us! He would have all people -- influential or not -- saved from sin and free to live under His grace. |

Fifth Sunday of Easter Service (May 2, 2021)
Christ is the Vine, to whom every Christian belongs by Holy Baptism and the divine gift of faith in His word, and from whom comes life and life everlasting. Abiding in Him, we have overflowing love, life, and joy to bear fruit with others. |

Fourth Sunday of Easter Service (April 25, 2021)
Christ is our Good Shepherd, who leads us in paths of righteousness for His name's sake. He leads and guides us, as well as protecting and preserving us, gathering the lost and the strays, binding up the wounded, and loving the young and the old and the in-between throughout their lives. Jesus even goes beyond that, giving those who trust Him to shepherd them the gift of eternal life. |

Third Sunday of Easter Service (April 25, 2021)
500 years on April 18, a minister named Martin Luther spoke with conviction when asked to renounce his works reflecting the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ by grace. He replied, "Here I stand. I can do no other. God help me. Amen." Today we continue to stand on the grace of God portrayed throughout the Scriptures, especially in the resurrection of Jesus. |

Second Sunday of Easter Service (April 18, 2021)
Have you ever heard something that you thought was too good to be true? Thomas did. He didn't believe the account of the resurrection of Jesus. Then Jesus gave him a front-row seat to putting his fingers in the nail holes and the spear gash in his side and he believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed the resurrection of our Savior Jesus! |

Easter Service (April 4, 2021)
The women who went to the tomb on Easter morning were sad, but seemingly confident in what they might find. They carried the spices they had bought, they talked about the stone at the entrance of the tomb. What they found when they got there was much different. No stone to roll away; no body to anoint with spices. Jesus had risen from the dead! Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia! |

Palm Sunday and the 135th Anniversary of
St. Paul's congregation (March 28, 2021) Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday to shouts of excitement. He had raised Lazarus from the dead to the eyes and ears of many witnesses! Now He was coming into Jerusalem in triumph as the conqueror over death and the grave, preparing to face His own death and grave that you and I might receive His victory. Today is the 135th anniversary of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church! We give thanks to God for His great grace carried down through the generations! |

The Fifth Sunday in Lent (March 21, 2021)
James and John misunderstand the kingdom of God in our text for today. Is it about position and power, or about selflessness and service? What does Jesus do? |
|
The Fourth Sunday in Lent (March 14, 2021)
What is it like to love a world which doesn't love you back? God knows...and loves us anyway -- all the way to the cross. We may not know our need for Him, but He knows our need and supplies it from His love, by His grace, for the sake of His mercy! |

The Second Sunday in Lent (Feb. 28, 2021)
St. Paul states that Christians are justified by faith. Who is then doing the work of justification? Is it us in maintaining our faith? Is it God who gives it as a gift? What role do good works play in the life of the Christian? Find out more as we explore Romans 5. |

The First Sunday in Lent (Feb. 21, 2021)
God tested Abraham and the Holy Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by Satan. What can be gained by the trials Christians face? Where can we turn when we are weak and weary and in need of comfort, strength and forgiveness? St. James the Lesser helps us today in our epistle (letter) reading. |
