Last Sunday of the Church Year (November 22) When Christ comes again, will you be on His right or His left? It makes a big difference eternally. We tend to think of sins that we commit, but are there things we also omit (leave out) which are sins equally as damning? What role does God's grace play in the judgment? |
Twenty-fourth Sunday after Pentecost (November 15)
What have you done with the Christian life God has given you? Have you tucked it away, hidden from the world, to be retrieved only in case of emergency? Is it a living, growing faith and life which is on display for all to see that you are a child of God and of the light of His grace? Examine your stewardship of God's gifts before the day of the Lord and Christ's return. |
Twenty-third Sunday after Pentecost (November 8)
Eager for the day of the Lord to come? How is your faith -- weak, strong, non-existent? Christ, when He comes in glory, will be looking for the faith He has given you to be active, employed in good works, used to the glory of His kingdom. For those who believe in Him it will be wonderful. For those who just want to look good in a pew or on a roster, not so much. |
All Saints' Day (November 1) A celebration of what Christ has gifted to those who have lived by faith and died under grace. The resurrected Jesus gives His death and His everlasting life to His people, those who are mercifully called children of God.
Observance of Reformation Day (October 25) Many Christians want to be good enough for God by doing good things to overcome the evil they do. No one can, though, according to the holy Word of God. Salvation comes as God's gift of Christ's righteousness to sinners, received by faith. |

Sixteenth Sunday after Pentecost (September 20)
A worship service teaching the kingdom of heaven as distinct from the kingdoms of this earth. Our accounting demands that the wage fits the work, but God's economy of salvation is all about His generosity. God gives us not a fair wage (we would never be worthy) but an equal portion with Christ, who earned salvation on our behalf. |
Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost (September 13) A worship service highlighting the forgiveness our Heavenly Father has for us in Jesus Christ and the forgiveness He would have us deliver to other sinners. |
Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost (August 30)
A worship service for the Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost, reminding Christians that it is Christ, not ourselves, for whom we live -- especially when it comes to those who persecute us or cause us to suffer. God knows what injustices are committed and how to repair and/or repay them. |
Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost (August 23) A worship service for the Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost highlighting the divinely-revealed confession of St. Peter. On the rock that is Peter's confession, Christ establishes His Church and gives to her the authority to forgive and retain sins. |

Confirmation Sunday
(June 28) A service for Confirmation Sunday/Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. What does the Christian do with the Law of God? Can you fulfill it? Should you try? What if you can't? Jesus did for you.
